THE OPPORTUNITY: U16 OCUP / FIS Alpine Ski Coach
LOCATION: Caledon Ski Club, Caledon, Ontario
JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Seasonal (November 1st – April 30th)
ABOUT THE CALEDON SKI CLUB: Caledon Ski Club is a premier ski destination located in the scenic hills of Caledon, Ontario. With a rich history of competitive alpine skiing, we are dedicated to fostering the growth of young athletes by offering top-tier coaching and training programs. We are seeking a passionate and experienced **U16 OCUP / FIS Alpine Ski Coach** to join our coaching team for the upcoming season.
JOB OVERVIEW: We are looking for a highly motivated and qualified individual to lead our U16 OCUP and FIS athletes, providing expert guidance and coaching throughout the winter season. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in competitive alpine skiing, excellent communication skills, and a passion for developing young athletes.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide coaching and training for U16 OCUP and/or FIS athletes, focusing on skill development, technique, and competitive performance.
• Develop and implement seasonal training plans, including on-snow and dryland activities.
• Accompany athletes to races and competitions, offering on-site coaching, feedback, and support.
• Monitor and evaluate athlete progress, adjusting training plans as needed to optimize performance.
• Foster a positive and inclusive team environment that encourages athlete growth and development.
• Communicate regularly with athletes, parents, and club staff to ensure alignment with program goals and expectations.
• Stay updated with the latest coaching techniques, equipment, and FIS/OCUP regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Certified Level 2 (or higher) CSCF (Canadian Ski Coaches Federation) or equivalent international coaching certification.
• Minimum of 3 years of coaching experience with U16 OCUP and/or FIS athletes.
• Strong knowledge of alpine racing techniques, strategies, and athlete development.
• Proven track record of success in coaching competitive alpine athletes.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire young athletes.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other coaches, athletes, and club management.
• Availability to work full-time from November 1st to April 30th, including weekends and holidays.
• Willingness to travel with the team for competitions and training camps as required.
