CALEDON TERRAIN PARKS 2025 - UPDATES

You are going to notice some changes with regards to the Terrain Parks at Caledon this coming season. There will be some operational, teaching, and utilization access changes. The goal of the new plan is to maintain the safest Terrain Park possible, while providing an opportunity to develop skills from beginner to expert.

There will be more Park Rangers in the parks this season. Their roles and responsibilities will be to monitor the park entrance, maintain park features throughout the day, watch for the flow of traffic through the park, and provide some safe riding education. Park Rangers will also ensure that the Park is being used as intended by interacting directly with those in the Terrain Park.

The Park build will be organized into “Lines”. There will be a line of small features on the right, small, medium and large features in the middle and medium, large and extra-large features on the left. What is critical about this is that once a user starts on a line it is imperative that they stay on that line to the bottom of the Terrain Park. Moving from one line of features to another line of features part way down the hill is dangerous and presents a risk to all involved in using the park.

These lines will be marked for clarity and if there are infractions to this etiquette, the individual will be provided with some education and an explanation with the expectation that future use will adhere to our best and safe practices.

For everyone’s safety, including your own, please ski and ride in the park for its intended use. Using the features in the lines that are created will help us greatly improve the overall state of safety in the park. By entering the park and skiing or riding the terrain, it is assumed that you are there to enjoy the features as designed.

All participants in our Recreation and Competitive Programs will be going through an indoor safety and park awareness class that will be delivered early in the season. This session will involve watching the video from the Park Pass test that is still mandatory to gain entrance to the Park. Please note that this in class information session does NOT replace the requirement for the Park Pass test that is available on our website.

There are also going to be some restrictions for use of Simon’s Snow Park on Carson’s Run this year, again to maximize the flow and use of this Park. Users of Simon’s Snow Park are required to be six years of age or older as of December 31, 2024. Users that are five years of age and younger are able to access the park area on McHenry’s Road Runner. That Park will also require a 2025 Park Pass sticker, obtained from snow school or West Lodge ticket counter after doing the online video and test (parent assisted of course).

Entrance onto the Snowcross Track on Holden’s Highway will require a Park Pass sticker as well.

We thank you in advance for your support of these initiatives and trust that we will have a safe and fun year in the Terrain Park.
