Event Committee Recruitment for the 2024-2025 Season!
April 11, 2024 | Published in
Hello Members!
Are you interested in joining a Club Event Committee, working with fellow Members and forging new friendships with Members while ushering an idea through from inception to a successful party, celebration, or fundraiser?
Are you creative, a planner, a logistics person, a doer? Because we need you to help us plan five of the Club’s marquee events. While there are many events during the season, only five have committees.
Each committee has five members, with existing Committee Members given first right of refusal. Each committee has a Committee Chair, selected by Committee Members; a Chair can serve two terms/seasons before they must relinquish their seat.
At present, we are looking for Committee Members for the following Event Committees:
1) Athletic Development Fundraiser – 3 vacancies
2) Ladies’ Day – full (updated as of April 18/24)
3) Men’s Day – full
4) Keenagers – 3 vacancies
5) Gluhwein – 4 vacancies (updated as of April 18/24)
What’s expected of an Event Committee Member?
Your time and expertise are what we need the most, and we won’t pretend otherwise -- it can be a lot of work, but it is also very rewarding. Event Committees have their first meeting in April or May when they select a date for the event, set a preliminary budget and plan the frequency of regular meetings.
Committee Members are expected to help during the day of the event; following the event the Committee Chair submits a report summarizing the process and making recommendations for next season.
Other Opportunities
If you still want to get involved, but feel like being a Committee Member is too much of a commitment, there are opportunities for you to be a Committee Support Member, someone who supports a specific aspect of the event, like decorating, menu planning, prize sourcing, securing sponsors, among other jobs.
Event Descriptions and Committee Guidelines
Please follow this link
, or go to the Member Events / Committee Guidelines Section of this site, to read the full Committee Guidelines document, including event descriptions.
How to get involved – let us know by April 22, 2024.
If you are interested in joining one of the Event Committees with vacancies, serving in a supporting role, or if you have any questions, please email:
